Karaganda RURL

In the United States, the month of February is dedicated to the African-American culture, and the AC Karaganda organized a special event in honor of this commemoration month. We invited the AC users and English teachers from the International Business Academy. Using the resources available at the American Corner, AC patrons learned about Carter G. Woodson, Martin Luther King, Richard Pryor, Maya Angelou and Rosa Parks. As a group activity, participants read

It was the first workshop in a row of a series of seminars to help the participants improve their fluency in English. On February 19-10, the Regional  English  Language Officer (RELO) Jennifer Uhler and her assistant Olga Paterova visited our American Corner in Karaganda.

On the 31 of January, the American Corner Karaganda welcomed Martin Ryan, Vice consul and Ulan Akhmetov, Consular assistant from the U.S. Embassy Astana. The Embassy guests talked to some 50 AC patrons about an important visa issuing theme.
