On 6th March we have discussed Women’s History Month with our AC users at speaking club. The Moderator Olga Volkova, CC program alumna. Women's History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It is celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, corresponding with International Women's Day on March 8, and during October in Canada, corresponding with the celebration of Person’s day on October 18.We have decided to speak about Sally Kristen Ride, Roza Rymbayeva, Aiman Mussakhajayeva and Anna Eleanor Roosevelt. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was the longest-serving First Lady throughout her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office (1933-1945). She was an American politician, diplomat, and activist who later served as a United Nations spokeswoman. Astronaut and astrophysicist Sally Ride became the first American woman in space aboard the space shuttle Challenger. Roza Rymbayeva a Soviet and Kazakh singer, the people’s artist of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
Aiman Mussakhajayeva - National Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rector of Kazakh National University of Arts, a prominent public figure. AC users got a lot of information about their biography, career and their contribution. It was very informative and interesting for everybody. As usual, there was a book exhibition according to the topic.
