Karaganda RURL

On January 24 we had amazing time with Culture Attaché of  U.S Embassy Astana - Megan Tetrick  and Alumni coordinator – Elmira Askerova at our Speaking club. The aim of  their visit –to strengthen intercultural relationship, to see the work of our American corner and to meet with Alumnie of educational programs.

Active AC patrons, as usual, participated in open discussion with Attaché. There was a book exhibition full of the books of American writers which were translated in Kazakh language, interesting articles from newspapers, magazines and etc. The head of Karaganda Regional Universal Research Library named after N.V.Gogol, Dina Bazarbayevna opened our meeting with introducing honorable guests. Our users asked Megan Tetrick about education system of the USA, educational and exchange programs and other interested questions. The discussion was very exciting and in a friendly atmosphere. After discussion AC stuff showed to our guest other sections of library and gave them information about their work. Later  event continued with the meeting of Alumnie in tea party. They shared with their experience and impressions.
