The most wonderful time of year for some and an excuse to get somewhere hot for others, Christmas holidays are different for everyone.

The Christmas season, or festive season, is an annually recurring period recognized in many Western and Western-influenced countries that is generally considered to run from late November to early January, defined as incorporating at least Christmas and usually New Year, and sometimes various other holidays and festivals. New Year is an international holiday, but in every country it is celebrated in many different ways and each family has their own traditions. However, it’s a time of happiness for everybody!

We also celebrated New Year with our AC participants at our American Corner Karaganda. Moderator of  Speaking club , Olga Volkova, discussed with them about Christmas Day, New Year, traditions. Everybody shared with their dream, family tradition. It was very amusing. Then they worked in 3 groups. Each group prepared congratulation speech in different languages. First group told in Kazakh  and Uzbek languages. They also made a sketch with Ayaz Ata.The Kazakh call Father Frost as Ayaz Ata which is literally translated as "Father Frost". They read poem, sang song. Next group congratulated in Russian language. One of our participant read poem. Third group said their congratulation speech in English and German languages. This group  sang song "Jingle Bells". It was very interesting. After discussion was tea party.

Our best wishes for a bright and promising New Year 2016! Hope it is the best year ever for You filled with everything that makes you happy and keeps you safe. Happy New Year!!!
