The American Corner Karaganda launched the Women's History Month on March 3 having organized a thematic Round table. It started with questions among over 40 participants "Are more teachers / nurses / professional musicians female or male in your country?" Afterwards, they learned about the celebration of the Women's History Month in the United States and its theme in 2013 "Women Inspiring Innovation Through imagination: celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics."

We read the Air & Space Smithsonian magazine's article "The private Amelia: Amelia Earhart: The thrill of it" as well as IIP publication about Rachel Carson "Pen Against Poison." Also, we used a book "Amazing Women in American History" and found out so much about US history! As in Kazakhstan we celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, we will also honor great Kazakhstani women through a Photo exhibit that was launched by the US Embassy Astana "Modern Women in Kazakhstan"
