Karaganda RURL

On February 19-10, the Regional  English  Language Officer (RELO) Jennifer Uhler and her assistant Olga Paterova visited our American Corner in Karaganda.

On February 19, Jennifer made a presentation about the RELO programs such as English Language Fellow Program, The English Language Specialist Program, and The English Access Microscolarship Program.  Jennifer also underlined such resources Shaping the Way We Teach English Webinars, The E-Teacher Scholarship Program, American English Оnline (АЕО), and Trace Effects, and the attendees of the meeting received info leaflets.

On February 20, Jennifer and Olga also attended the Webinar "Getting the Most out of TESOL International Association" that the AC Karaganda hosted for the local English language teachers. And again, there was a wealth of invaluable information for the local participants of the webinar.

We were happy to receive some copies of the English teaching magazine FORUM, where Jennifer and Jerrold Frank published an article on classroom activities "The Magic Icebox." Jennifer repeated that teachers from Kazakhstan could also share their experience and publish lesson plans in this magazine. She also asked the audience participate in the nomination Kazakhstani Teacher of the Month and explained the Application  process.
