Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.

The Family Day was officially initiated in Kazakhstan on September 8, 2013.

Nazarbayev said that throughout generations strong family ties have nurtured the best spiritual and moral values such as tolerance, diligence, love for the motherland, respect towards elders and hospitality. “The Family Day strengthens all of these qualities and teaches the younger generation of the importance of responsible marriage, care for children and elders. Family is the foundation of Kazakhstani society and the basis of all achievements of our country in economy, culture and social politics. The wellbeing of each Kazakhstani family is key to realization of the Kazakhstan 2050 Strategy,” the Head of the State said

In our society, the family has always been a link between different generations; it promotes love to the Motherland, the real Kazakhstan patriotism. The Family Day in Kazakhstan is celebrated on the second Sunday of September.

On September 13 th English Speaking club was held at American Corner Karaganda in Gogol library. The topic was – Family where life begins.CC Program Alumna-Olga Volkova conducted the club.Visitors discussed basic family values and its importance.

Why is it important to celebrate Family Day? Because it can be a positive life-affirming event for children in all families but particularly those in diverse families. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are international institutions but they do leave out lots of children every year and can cause awkwardness and exclusion despite the best efforts of parents and teachers. The concept of Family Day is so broad that everyone should be able to see themselves reflected in the notion of family, no matter what size or shape their family is. Even for those children who may not be living in their family of choice or birth, we hope that they can find something positive and celebratory in Family Day.
