On February 24, English Language Fellow Annah Trunick in Karaganda organized a workshop for local high school teachers and students. It was the first workshop in a row of a series of seminars to help the participants improve their fluency in English. This time, Annah focused on "Student learning styles" with the goal to discuss learning styles and the way to use the results to teach students and incorporate activities appropriately in classes. Important role was given to using a variety of ESL language games and activities in the classroom, thus greatly increasing the chance of reaching all students (and English becomes easier, more interesting and more fun to learn).
The presentation material was very colorful and two hours passed very fast. Over 40 participants were truly delighted and look forward to the next seminar. Those who attend four seminars will receive a certificate. As one of the participants, A. Sofina, said: I would like to thank Annah for leading this really great workshop, that was very useful for me as a future teacher of English. It taught us to be enthusiastic, active, and interested. Thank you for this experience!
